I just want to start off by saying thank you so much Leanne for the support and encouragement you gave me during this extremely empowering journey!
With our first baby, we didn’t have a doula because I was convinced we didn’t need one. I laboured at home for 4 days with augmentations I wish I didn’t do looking back. It ended up being a hospital transfer with a traumatic birth.
Going into my second pregnancy, I knew I wanted a doula. I was so grateful when I found Leanne! Right from the first meet and greet my husband and I loved her! She was very aligned with our views, encouraged the home birth attempt, and she is just such a joy to have conversations with. It was truly like having a friend to help us through this journey!
During my pregnancy I had a lot of prodromal labour and Leanne was amazing with advice and suggestions.
During my actual labour and birth, she was calm, present, prepared, and most importantly, she was by my side exactly when I needed her. She would hold space from a distance when she knew I didn’t need physical, upfront support, but she was holding me (hooray for those hip squeezes, seriously game changing!), and talking me through it. She gave me a lot of guidance when I needed it (softening my shoulders, breathing low, etc.). Leanne is extremely intuitive when it comes to knowing exactly what I needed in the moment!
My birth was everything and more that I could have ever imagined and I am forever grateful for Leanne’s support! ??
