BEST DECISION EVER! I am so beyond happy that I hired the Birth Collective to support us through pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum! It would have been such a different experience if I didn’t have these wonderful ladies there for us every step of the way.
I had a fairly uneventful pregnancy (until the end) and even then it was so nice to have their knowledge with the dozens of questions I probably asked them as it was my first pregnancy.
The last couple weeks of pregnancy were more eventful as I was diagnosed with chronic hypertension which turned into preeclampsia. I had a lot of false alarms, questions, concerns, anxiety - they were so helpful and patient each and every time!
And a huge shout out to Bree, she is so special to our family and we will always remember her and what she did for us. Our induction and labor process lasted 84 hours. All three doula were so helpful during the process. When it was time, it ended up being Bree’s turn and we are so grateful for her! She spent the last 24 hours in the hospital with us. I was so tired and getting close to feeling defeated and she came with the energy that I needed! And she advocated for me perfectly. Her positioning techniques were the ONLY reason I believe I was able to deliver vaginally after 4.5 days. Even with the epidural that I gave into at the end, she was flipping me around in all different positions! She coached and empowered my husband as he was supporting me which was huge for both of us. Bree is witty, hilarious, nurturing, wise, firm and thoughtful. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with a doula.
Post birth, Bree checked in several times asking how we were holding up and Sarah and Austin were very helpful as well. We are truly so thankful for the Birth Collective and will definitely be return customers as soon as future baby number 2 is on its way!
