I cannot recommend Heather and her partner doula, Michelle, enough for your birth and beyond experience. As first time parents, my husband and I were definitely excited, but also quite nervous about what to expect. Navigating the sea of information online was overwhelming and we knew we needed help beyond the standard medical care of a doctor. Upon my first meeting with Heather and Michelle I immediately felt assured and comfortable that all my feelings and preferences were valid and normal. They took the time to visit our house, share their wealth of knowledge and answer any questions we had. Heather attended my birth and was a big part of the reason I was able to remain calm, focus on my breath and trust my body's instincts and processes. My husband was so grateful for Heather's guidance throughout labour on how he could help me through the pain and be a supportive birth partner. After my baby girl arrived, Heather was extremely helpful for my challenging breastfeeding journey. She let me know that I was not alone and encouraged me to try different techniques but also assured me that whatever I was able to do was completely fine. Whenever I had weak moments where I felt guilty for having to use formula, Heather was quick to stand up for me and be in my corner to say that I was doing the best for my baby. I just love Heather to bits and consider both her and Michelle both as family. I'm excited to hopefully be blessed with a second baby so I can work with these two wonderful doulas once again!
