We did 2 appointments before the birth, and we talked about pregnancy/birth/baby concerns and ideas, plus she guided us through making a birth plan and provided us with evidence-based reading materials. Lisa was also the perfect professional needed to support my husband and me through this experience.
Lisa was our "good luck" person at the hospital, too-- as soon as she arrived, things started happening fast! I was induced, and she arrived exactly when we needed her most, to guide me through super painful contractions and use great pain management tools (massage, essential oils, breathing techniques) and reminded me about my pain med options from my birth plan. She was also a MAJOR part of the delivery process, giving me the strength I needed to push out the baby!
We did one post-baby visit, but honestly I was recovering well and didn't have any lactation issues, so that was it on my end. But SUPER grateful for Lisa and her amazing patience with us, plus giving us her cell phone number for any and all questions 24/7, text or call. Would 100% recommend Lisa to anyone looking for a great doula!!!
