Amber came highly recommended to us by our very trusted midwife, and from the very moment we first met her, we understood exactly why!
Before even hiring her, Amber sat down with us for the better part of an hour to answer all of our questions and discuss how she serves expecting families. She immediately demonstrated professionalism, confidence and a wealth of knowledge about the physiological process of birth!
Before our due date, she came to our home on two separate occasions (one time with coffees in hand!) to talk about all that we envisioned for our home birth and how she could help make that happen. She even wrote and printed out a birth plan so that everyone who assisted us would know our desires!
Once everything began, Amber was the first person we called! All throughout labor and the birth, she assisted with various birthing positions, provided me with a tens unit to help alleviate the back labor, turned on a diffuser/lights/music to create a peaceful space, offered me sips of water and bites of food, reminded my husband that everything was going beautifully, and even used a rebozo technique to help reposition our daughter in the birth canal. My midwife had done a cervical check and found that her head was slightly angled in a certain direction, causing labor to stall. Shortly after Amber used the rebozo to help straighten her out, my water broke and a few hours later our daughter was born! We credit that shift in progress to Amber and her immense knowledge!
Before leaving, Amber tidied up the house (saying she never wants to leave any trace of the birth behind besides baby) and even made us breakfast in bed!
Two days later, she was back in our home checking in on us and the new life she helped bring into this world!
We truly couldn't feel more loved and seen by Amber. The way she serves her families leaves a very special mark on their hearts that'll never be forgotten!
