Michelle was an essential member of the birth of my baby girl and my postpartum journey.
Leading up to labour and delivery, Michelle and her partner Heather were incredibly responsive and always provide well balanced information that was research backed. They really helped me feel prepared and their visits, phone calls and texts provided so much clarity and was reassuring through a new experience.
During labour, Michelle was hands on (for days) and was fully engaged in the experience. Her collaboration with the L&D nurses was incredible which made my husband and I feel like we had the best possible team with us. We were grateful with the outcome and I believe Michelle's calm demeanor, reminders to breathe, hip squeezes, recommendations of different positions (help getting in and out of them) and just general awesomeness was a huge part of having such a positive birth experience.
I was lucky enough to have Michelle as a postpartum doula and honestly, from the bottom of my heart, know she is a huge part of why I feel more confident as a first time mom with a 5 month old. Her support evolved with us as a family, being very focused on physical needs and healing to start and then transitioning into supporting in all aspects as needed. Also, our baby girl has known her from the literal start and loves and trusts her so much, just like we do.
Michelle is so good, we might just need to have another baby just so we can see her so much again!
