We hired Chris as a birth doula for our third child and had a great experience. My desire was to have as much of a natural birth as possible, and labor longer at home before going to the hospital. Chris helped us achieve this, and was a calm and reassuring presence throughout the labor. She had very helpful suggestions for different positions and things to try to help labor progress, especially when it became difficult for me. I also appreciated her support during my (very short!) time in the hospital before delivery. For me, she provided a good balance between being supportive and giving me space while in labor.
After the birth, Chris was able to help with breastfeeding, latching, etc and encouraged me to see a lactation consultant when I may have been inclined to put it off. She is very knowledgeable and provided many resources throughout pregnancy as well. I would recommend hiring her as a doula!
