After interviewing several doulas, I knew immediately that I wanted to have Marissa as my birth doula (FTM here). During our prenatal visits, she made sure to thoroughly ask my husband and I questions on our birth plan. She is honest, compassionate, and has a great sense of humor - which helped put us at ease. It helped us feel more confident going into the delivery, prepare for postpartum (ie support, lactation consultation, etc), and the process encouraged me to ask questions during the delivery! Marissa checked in often and was available to help answer any questions that came up. I had an incredible hospital team, but Marissa was a calming addition and helped us advocate for what we needed. I cannot emphasize how empowering it felt during and after the delivery of my daughter.
