Brittani was my doula for my second pregnancy. She was the first doula I ever had. My first labor and delivery resulted in some trauma as labor majorly stalled and I had to change my birth plan. I did not have a doula's support for my first birth. For my second, I wanted to try again for a natural, unmedicated birth, so I knew I needed a doula this time. By chance, I stumbled on Britt's profile on Doula Match, and I saw her good reviews and felt she would be a good fit. We met for coffee quickly, and immediately I knew she would be the right one for the job. Britt has a calming demeanor which makes me feel safe, but she also has a strength about her which made me know she would be a strong and effective part of my birth team. Sure enough, Britt supported me in every way I needed during birth. I ended up needing a lot of physical touch during my labor and a lot of counter pressure, and Britt was perfect for that. She was present and alert for my entire labor. In total, she labored with me for about 12 hours, and stayed after I gave birth for about another 5 hours to make sure my family and I were good to go. Britt also came to the house after I gave birth to help me in postpartum. She is easy to be around and very helpful too. I would recommend her to anyone who needs a doula! Oh, and somehow she managed to take special photos of my birth that allow me to reflect back on it with postive feelings. She captured special moments between me and my husband. My husband felt safe with Britt being part of our birth journey, and he is very picky, so that says a lot! Finally, Britt was also good with my toddler who was around for after the birth and during the pospartum visit. Couldn't recommend Britt enough!
