I wanted to take a moment to offer up an adoring husband’s point of view, after my incredible wife had done a ton of deep diving into the way our general medical systems operate, identifying the deceit and blatant lies on a massive scale, just good old fashioned due diligence and some collaboration with other "crunchy moms" (that's what I call em' and it's certainly meant as a compliment) my wife's eyes were miraculously opened, she then helped open mine and we collectively decided we wanted to go a different direction when it came to delivering our second Baby. Hello, hi, how’s it going? Nervous husband here, the very thought of a home birth or using the birthing center and or not using our OBGYN (whom we both really liked and had a really great relationship with through our first pregnancy) was nothing short of terrifying for me, however my wife's confidence and unwavering commitment to wanting to experience a natural birth this round, with as little intervention as possible, was all I needed to get onboard with the game plan. We then interviewed quite a few midwives and quite a few doulas but we weren't 100% on anyone until we were referred to and had met with Steffanie Thomas with Magnolia Birth Doula Services. From the very first conversation we had with Steffanie we knew she was the doula we wanted to work with! Every part of Steffanie’s doula services process were nothing short of tier 1, from the awesome labor prep classes she offers (highly recommended), to being a true partner in the pregnancy by being so available and helpful with continual guidance and support, all the way through the finish line of natural, unmedicated labor and delivery! Steffanie was truly amazing during every part of helping my superwoman of a wife and I safely bring our Baby into our arms!
