Martha was our doula for the birth of our second daughter in March 2024. After a challenging first birth, we decided to switch it up and plan something a little different for our second. Martha was there every step of the way, helping, coaching and guiding us to the decision that felt right for us. There was no judgment, only support. She was an incredible advocate for us at the hospital, asking questions when I couldn't, and giving the health care providers relevant information about my status and our wishes. Although our second birth didn't go the way we planned, it was an extremely redemptive, healing experience that is mostly because of Martha. I am eternally grateful I can look back on giving birth with a 'ah yes, that was how it was meant to go' perspective. I love her. Also, she didn't wince once or break eye contact for a second as I pushed my girl out. She's a tough cookie.
