Testimonial for Steph Bellows
When I first met Steph, I really wasn't clear on what role a doula would play in my birth experience. I just knew I wanted someone in my corner. Someone more than a doctor, someone that I could get to know on a more personal level and form some sort of trusting relationship with. As I got to know her, I quickly realized that Steph was truly going to be that person for my husband and I. She was so easy to talk to and I found that even after our initial meet and greet, I could have spent hours chatting and visiting with her. It was just so easy! Throughout the course of my pregnancy, she was a quiet source of support, there whenever I needed. We got to know her further through our hypnobirthing course, which she led and I highly recommend. When the day finally came that we would welcome our baby girl into the world, Steph was a calm but fiercely supportive force in the delivery room. My husband and I felt that we could turn to her for help with reasoning and decision making, when emotions were high. She pulled tricks and techniques out of her pocket that helped my labor progress naturally and I was able to deliver our baby without significant medical intervention. I truly feel like Steph is a long time friend of ours, even though we've known her for only several months. I'm so happy and proud to have had her by our side during one of the most incredible and special days of our life.
