We absolutely loved working with Kate! She was on call for the Doula we'd originally planned on working with when I went into labor. She joined us a few hours into active labor and was an immediate warm, calming and knowledgeable presence.
By that point I was really feeling my contractions. I was scared and anxious. She was comforting and guided me through some really intense contractions. She massaged, coached, photographed/recorded really special movements for our family. She made me feel heard and also supported my husband and sister through the six hour labor. Her being with us allowed for them to take bathroom and snack breaks and she also guided them through the process.
After birth, she helped my daughter and I get the hang of latching/breast feeding. She stayed to make sure we were well and everyone was in a good spot before she left. Kate continued to check in during the weeks following. Answering questions and offer suggestions. She drove out to our home for a post partum meeting and brought a thoughtful, handmade gift to celebrate the birth and our daughter. Kate genuinely made our first birth so beautiful. It's something I'll never forget and I can't recommend her enough!
