Marcia Mattern assisted with the birth of my first baby this summer. As I prepared for the big day, I desired to have a natural, vaginal birth at the Birth Center in Bloomington, IL. I can truly say that the one and only reason I was able to achieve my goal was with the assistance of Marcia. I labored actively for many hours, making the total time 'in labor' almost 60 hours--many if which Marcia never left my side. When I didn't think I could continue any longer, Marcia was always there with a smiling face and some encouragement. After several days of labor, my son was born into the world and into Marcia's hands. Her first grandbaby--earthside by her strength and support. ??
