To have Elissa as my doula was one of the best decisions for my post-partum care.
I had a phone interview with Elissa during my 36th pregnancy week, where Ellisa suggested a home-visit to get familiar with my surroundings.
Elissa got on board the second day after birth and stayed with us until the end of the second week. She was supportive, detail-oriented, and took good care of my son.
A glimpse of Elissa’s nursing responsibilities included sterilizing feeding bottles, putting my son to sleep, and bathing, etc. Elissa completed every infant-care chore with kindness and tenderness. While she was feeding my son, she talked gently to him.
As first-time parents, my husband and I lacked experiences and Elissa reminded us of all the missing knowledge. She reminded us that the bottle-nipples we were using were not designed for newborns. She also taught us how to identify the cues for hunger. We also learned belly massage tricks to prevent gassy from her.
After birth, simple house seemed drudgy to me. Since my husband was taking care of the newborn, he was unable to finish all the house chores and Elissa offered help. Elissa swept floors, cleaned our dishes, and dumped trash for us.
I was grateful that Elissa helped out in a pinch while my family was vulnerable after my birth. I believe Elissa would be a trustworthy assist to any family needs necessary newborn care.
