As a first-time mom, I knew that I wanted to have a doula with me during birth. A close friend referred me to Joanna and spoke very highly of her, so I knew I wanted to meet her. Joanna is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and supportive throughout the entire process. We met several times leading up to my due date, during which we discussed my birth plan, what to expect, and various exercises I could do at home to prepare for labor and help keep my baby in a good position.
Once we arrived at the birth center, Joanna was immensely helpful. As someone who had never gone through this before, it was reassuring to have someone who could guide me through the process. She applied counter pressure to my lower back during my contractions, which significantly alleviated the pain of the contractions. Throughout every contraction, Joanna was there for me both mentally and physically. She reminded me of my breathing techniques and helped me stay calm.
As my labor progressed, I never felt scared because she made me feel comfortable and continually reassured me that I was doing great. I was able to achieve a successful unmedicated birth, which was my goal, and I truly believe that with Joanna's support, I was able to accomplish the birth I desired. I was amazed at how effectively she helped me manage the pain of my contractions.
Joanna is amazing! She was always available to answer any questions I had, and she checked on me many times before and after the birth to ensure that both my baby and I were doing well. I genuinely feel that I can trust her and that she had my best interests at heart. It was incredibly comforting to have someone in my corner, I highly recommend Joanna as your doula!
