Having Mary as my Duola was a game changer. Mary is very passionate, and dedicated. And I highly recommend her. She helped answer questions that I had. My previous 2 births were very stressful for me and I desperately wanted something different for my 3rd. Mary helped me achieve this. This pregnancy was hard in many ways. I had gestational diabetes, my husband got a new job so we were moving, and because my previous pregnancy had ended with an emergency C section I felt alot of pressure to just have another C section. But Mary helped me know my options helped me learn what to ask my doctor, helped when I was unsure. And in the end I was able to experience a vaginal birth with no epidural. She took time to know my preferences. And roll played with my husband and I in advance different laboring techniques so in the moment they weren't new or foreign. Also walking through different scenarios before hand so that we could know we had a voice. Going into it I felt more aware of my options than with my previous births. When the birthing process started, she kept track of making sure my mental state was relaxed and felt safe which was one of the things I struggled with the most with my previous 2. Mary helped me experience most of my labor at home so that I was only going to the hospital for the last active part of my labor. She supported me in the hospital. And by doing so, made it possible for my husband to support me better. Because he had help, and knew I had help, he wasn't as worried about me if he was needed elsewhere. My time in the hospital was night and day to my previous two and because I had a positive birth experience recovery was so much better too. Everyone has different experiences after having a C section but I am glad I had Mary with me so that I could have a positive experience no mater what had to happen to keep me and my baby safe.
