The day I went into labor, I may have told Jade how far apart my contractions were later than I intended. Looking back at it, when you're about to be a first-time mom and are being told that you can give birth at any second while still standing in your living room, and with the birth center at least a half hour away, that easily could've been a very anxiety-inducing situation. Thanks to her calm demeanor, she kept both my husband and I at ease while she explained what was happening and would happen next. Having her by my side truly made all the difference.
I always say that one of the best decisions I've made for our family was choosing Jade to be our doula. She has such a positive, bright aura. I instantly felt comforable with her and knew I could trust her to help me achieve my birth goals. I knew that if I asked her something, she would give me her honest opinion. She also has a great way of making you feel empowered and reminding you of the amazing things your pregnant body is doing, and to just trust your body and your baby. Jade truly went above and beyond for all of us, especially in the first week postpartum where we needed it the most. My husband and I are forever grateful for the support we received from Jade before, during and after my birth. If baby #2 comes along, I know who my first call is going to be.
