I started researching doulas early in my 3rd trimester due to feeling the desire to have someone in my corner during late pregnancy to help me achieve a VBAC. I found Christie and after having an initial conversation with her I knew she would be a great fit. She offered advice and options to discuss with my providers before and after my prenatal appointments so I always felt like I was making good decisions and in control of my birth. During my labor Christie guided me through what I was feeling and offered ways for my husband and I to get through some of the harder parts of it. I believe that her support led me to an unmedicated labor and delivery. After birth Christie made sure my husband and I ate a good meal and once again made sure I was asking my providers the right questions making sure I spent minimal time recovering in the hospital.
