I couldn't be happier with my choice to work with Stacey or more grateful for her expertise. As a single mother by choice, I needed a lot of support during our two weeks together. Stacey not only taught me the best practices for formula feeding / bottle prep and tracking feeds and diapers, she offered to be available for and attended my first trip to the pediatrician, my home visit with a lactation consultant and took notes, weighed in and reminded me of what we learned in those visits. There was also daily laundry, meal prep and water bottle prep to ensure things ran smoothly in the household - modeling for me how to keep a tight ship operating while also taking care of myself. But in addition to these useful assists, Stacey checked in on my mental health, reminded me of the essentials with child care, essentials for my own wellbeing, cheered me on, and provided an unusual number of references/referrals to local professionals who could help me, such as a pediatrician and a pelvic floor therapist. This was invaluable given I had my baby out of state and was recovering out of state. Finally, because I was doing postpartum recovery out of state, there were some things I was unprepared for like the newborn clothing for my child being too big. Stacey was able to source hand me downs from other clients to help with this and other gaps that needed filling. Honestly, Stacey put me through motherhood boot camp in two weeks and did it with compassion. It's because of her I was able to return to Florida and be fully functional - alone - for two weeks while I interviewed nannies. If carbon copies of Stacey could be made the world would be a better place but she's truly one of a kind and the ideal doula for people who have the highest standards and care about excellence. She brings a dignity and seriousness to her practice that is inspiring and humbling. My child and I are off to a great start because of all that Stacey offers.
