I found Whole Mama later in my pregnancy when I had a friend tell me about doulas and I decided I had to have one for my birth. My ultimate goal was a non medicated hospital birth. The ladies at whole mama gave me a ton of great resources to help prepare for this goal. I also attended a labor prep class which was a fun way to connect with my partner and talk through our visions for our birth experience. Ultimately, my baby ended up breech and I made the decision to do a scheduled C-section. Michele came to the hospital the day we were scheduled and she was so supportive especially of my hubby who isn’t super comfortable in hospitals. She also took so amazing pictures for us of the birth and then she took my placenta so it could be encapsulated. Even though my birth didn’t go as I originally envisioned it ended up being absolutely perfect and the best decision for our family. We also had wonderful support from Hailey as our post partum doula- she helped with so much from teaching my husband to change a diaper, to showing me how to put on a baby wrap, to talking me through some of my post partum anxiety. Jade and Cara were amazing too. Overall Whole Mama is a wonderful group that offers great support not only during birth but before and after as well. I will definitely look forward to working with them again at my next birth!
