Birth: October 2024. Tia was extraordinary - through my anxiety-riddled high risk pregnancy, continuing through my labor, and then with lactation support and post-partum. Tia made my partner feel supported and seen—not just me; such a lifted weight. She was available by text, but as importantly, called me or him back, rather than texted, whenever we had a question and took seriously anything I was prone to downplay bc I didn’t want to be dramatic; she educated and empowered us, ensuring I didn’t succumb to blind white coat deference. She had great tips for being pregnant and helped us emotionally and medically navigate questions as they arose. As for labor, I had a csection previously; we prepared for all that might come to pass, but with her incredible, grounded, and calming advocacy and presence, I labored and delivered as hoped—without epidural; I absolutely could not have done it, stuck with it, and used and come back to my tools, without her. Tia is lovely—warm, wise, a pro at what she does, and-as crucial in any high stakes job-has a great sense of humor. As good as doulas get. Grateful and admiring.
