When we found out that we were pregnant for a second time, we immediately reached out to Barbie with no doubts that we wanted her by our side again! She had to be a part of our birth team! She provided so much value during our first pregnancy/birth that we knew we needed her care, support and knowledge - even with it being our second time. With my second pregnancy I was aiming for a VBAC, Barbie fully supported this decision. During birth when at moments it was looking like it could become a C-section or I was doubting myself after hours of pushing, Barbie reminded me of my strength and how I could achieve the VBAC I was deeply hoping for - It was the encouragement I so truly needed and it got me through. When she notices that something could be done to improve comfort (that others may not see, including medical staff) she calmly and politely makes suggestions to the team - She is your advocate. Her tips and tricks are endless with her extensive experience (yes, there is a way to control the hormone shakes ??). I have so many amazing things to say about Barbie - If you are thinking of having a Doula as part of your birth Team don't think twice about reaching out to Barbie! She will become the auntie/friend you didn't know you were going to gain from this experience!
