The entire experience can be nerve wracking especially when you’ve experienced pregnancy loss before. When the hospital admitted my wife to induce labor, at that moment you feel hopeless because there’s nothing you can do for her feelings. The fear of what nurses and doctors may do is concerning.
Our wonderful Doula Jen served as a go-between for us and (unfortunately) some rude doctor and nurses. Jennifer poured her heart out into our training from the start, and every step of the way worked late into the evening to reassure us when we asked questions and re-teach us lessons we forgot. You may think you know birthing and pregnancy because you’ve had one before—trust me you know nothing. The plethora of information had us very well-equipped for what lie ahead in 3, 6, 9 months. Really, the lessons aided us every day.
Learning about the Postpartum phase and the importance of breastfeeding, exercises, the correct diet, knowledge on what to do and what not to do…all catered to you and your circumstances and health history is really a platform for success. We were so ready that when speaking with Doctors and nurses (we did have some really good and professional ones), they were amazed at the knowledge and questions we had. Our beautiful baby girl was blessed into this world with the aid or Jennifer, who aided us in keeping her and my wife on the right track after losing 3 children prior to her services. I can’t express the need for this learning program. There is so much out there that is not taught about birthing and its processes. She is here to teach and be hands on. I recommend Jennifer Wilson all day any day.
