My partner and I interviewed three labor and delivery doulas in preparation for what we hoped would be a natural birth. We knew almost immediately upon interviewing Liza that she was the right fit for us.
We met a couple times before our delivery date to establish timelines, strategies, and alternatives. Liza was very patient with what felt like thousands of questions, and even things we didn't know we didn't know.
As we neared our due date, I was feeling calm and ready to have this baby. Our labor and delivery seemed to throw all our best plans out the window, but Liza really helped ground us and make those long hours of unmedicated contractions manageable. I felt only support as I opted to get an epidural for rest and relief. Then we continued to labor.
I had so much support in changing positions, keeping my spirits up, and working through decels. When it was clear that we had stalled out at 8.5cm with multiple other complications, Liza supported me emotionally as I opted in to a C-section I had originally hoped would not be our path.
Liza was an incredible support through the entire thing, up through coaching us through breastfeeding and following up after we went home. Her expertise, energy, and attention to detail all made the experience significantly less upsetting than it would have been were we on our own.
I would absolutely work with Liza again if given the opportunity and need. Thank you, Liza!
