Words cannot express how grateful I am that God connected me with Chi! I knew from the first phone call I had with her, that God was doing something special. My first birth was traumatic, so I was determined to do things differently with my 2nd birth. I was believing God for a complication free, trauma free, and virtually pain free home water birth. I had a c-section with my first, so I knew I wanted to have support as I set out for a supernatural vbac. Chi linked her faith with mine, and we believed God for the miraculous. I knew God had a beautiful birth story for me, and as fear tried to creep in, Chi was there for me every step of the way encouraging me and praying with and for me. Chi went above and beyond to give me the support that I needed, and with her help, I had the birth that I was believing God for.
When I went into labor, I was in denial that I was having contractions, and I remember Chi coming up to me as I had a contraction and she just sat on the floor and held my hand and coached me as I breathed through it. It was never alarming or scary. She stayed calm the whole time. As labor progressed, I needed counter pressure but wanted my husband hugging me, so Chi did counter pressure for me all the way through. I had been presenting breach, and I was fully prepared to deliver breach but my hearts desire was for him to come headfirst so that I could catch him. When I felt my body start telling me to push, Chi suggested that I put my leg up, and as I did, the next contraction came and out he came head first! It was the most incredible thing I’ve ever experienced, and we all rejoiced together. It was a beautiful moment that I will never forget.
Chi is respectful, supportive, and committed to giving the best care possible before, during, and after birth. Not only did she give me suggestions and helpful advice, she also lifted me up and fought for me spiritually. She was an invaluable part of my birthing team!
