Scarlett truly has a gift. In addition to helping ease the pain and advocating for me in the hospital while I was in labor, she was able to communicate with me in the state I was in in a way that reached me on a deep level.
The intensity of the pain I felt in labor felt a bit like I was in another reality, separate from those around me. Yet I could feel that Scarlett knew exactly where I was and could meet me in that place. She instinctively said and did what I needed without me needing to articulate or even know what that was myself. It's as if she was able to speak directly to the scared animal of my body, guiding it through the transition.
I felt her there with me in skill and presence through the whole experience. A month later when I shared some disappointment with myself for getting an epidural despite initially wanting to birth naturally, she helped me reframe the experience in a way that allowed me to release those self judgments.
We are so grateful that Scarlett was part of our birth story, and I can’t imagine the experience without her. I highly recommend working with her if you get the chance!
