We started by discussing my wants, needs, and preferences for the birth I desired. She helped me understand what kind of help I might need because I was a first time mom. In just a few prenatal sessions, she got to know me and she remembered everything when I went into labor. She really tailored her support to me and my husband's needs. Dia advocated for me at the right times, supported me when I felt like I couldn't continue with an unmedicated vaginal delivery, and gave the midwife and nurses space to give me medical attention when I needed it. If I had to give my birth to my daughter again, I wouldn't do it without Dia.
