Shaina was a lifeline when I was struggling with being a first time mom and very early on in my breastfeeding journey. After seeing 3-4 different lactation consultants I was still struggling to get my baby to latch 6 weeks postpartum, Shaina helped me make a few changes to my breastfeeding position to get him to latch and feed for over 15 mins! I can't stress how much of a relief it was to have someone to help me while I'm in my space, instead of in a clinic or hospital room. She was so calm and positive about the whole thing and my little one (Rihaan) was so relaxed the whole time.
Over the next three months Shaina helped support and teach us how to work with a newborn as we got to know Rihaan. She taught us how to trim his nails, how to massage his tummy for gas, how to hold him when he's fussy or has gas. She's the reason he now loves his baths and will even tolerate us washing his face with water (he pretty much cried the whole time when I used to bathe him before Shaina helped me!).
I went into my postpartum journey with a great support system (my husband was amazing and my partents stayed with us for the first 4 months to help us) but I was still struggling with postpartum anxiety, in and out of urgent care for weeks and feeling overwhelmed when I found Shaina. She was like a breath of fresh air and had this calmness and compentancy about her that both me and my mom adored. I can't put into words how greatful I am to have had her to help me create these positive core memories with my baby. I will always be greatful to her and I cannot recommend her enough to new parents!
