I hired Rocky to be my doula for the birth of my second child. Having a doula for my first birth was one of the key things I attribute to having a successful home birth. When I started planning my second home birth, I knew having a doula was at the top of the list of things I needed in my tool kit.
During my consult call, it was evident that Rocky has as a rare wealth of knowledge, authority in the birth community in this region, and overall is extremely passionate and professional about what she does.
She was very kind to work out a flexible payment plan to better accommodate our family's cash flow.
I loved our pre-natal meetings. I was blown away by the level of detail she put into building a birth plan. I took a 12 week birth class for my first birth that included building a birth plan, but there was key things I didn’t know I missed that I learned from my meetings with Rocky, incredible. She has so much to offer from her knowledge of birth intervention options, help with baby positioning during pregnancy and labor, supplements, honestly you name it.
Having her at my birth brought me so much peace of mind. She helped me move through some very intense contractions by giving me an optimal laboring positioning to help move my baby out of my left hip. She offered counter pressure support during my pushing while I was in the birth tub, and coaching to help me remember how to optimize my breath. Just to name a few.
Personally, the peace of mind she also brought me during my home birth is knowing that if I had to get transferred to the hospital, I would have her with me to help me and husband navigate a change to our preferred birth plan.
Having a doula is something that I’ll always be thankful for during my births, and you will be in the very best hands having Rocky as a part of your birth team. She is absolutely an irreplaceable asset and is a non-negotiable when planning your birth!
