Mel is an incredible doula, and I would choose them over and over again. From the moment we met Mel, we felt at ease. They brought a unique mix of knowledge, humor, calm and understanding that we knew would be a perfect fit for my birth. Aside from this being my first unmedicated, out of hospital birth, it was also the birth of our rainbow baby. It was very important to my husband and I that our baby boy was brought into this world surrounded with peace and so much joy. We also knew that who attends your birth can make all the difference in achieving these things...and it did in all the best possible ways with having Mel as our doula. Whether it was a smile to my husband in intense moments to assure him everything was happening just as it should or needed hip squeeze, Mel was a calming presence through it all. Not to mention, the amazing education and encouragement leading up to the birth as well as the support given in the months after to give that freshly postpartum brain a rest.
