Testimonial for Heidi Biddle
My husband Matt and I were very excited when we met Heidi at our initial meeting. We just seemed to click with her and we felt like she would be a great match for us in the laboring process. I liked that she would meet with us multiple times before the birth and after the birth. I also liked that she had lots of resources at the ready for us. Prior to our birth we met and went over our birth plan, did some labor simulation and walk through the nursery and our room to make sure we were ready for baby. She met us at our house and really got a sense of who we are as a couple. Both Matt and I felt confindent in our choice going into the birth. We now know that she was absolutely the best choice for us.
My labor was extremely long- 46 hours from first contraction to vaginal delivery. My water was broken for 40 of those hours. When my water broke I called heidi and she consulted me to contact the midwives but that likely I would just try to get some sleep (it was the middle of the night) I labored at home until morning when Heidi and the midwives met us at the birth center. We labored at the birth center for 24 hours before transfer to the hospital. while at the birth center Heidi was very proactive in helping me with my labor, suggesting positions, and encouraging me to walk the stairs. She really helped guide my husband to be there for me, especially if he didn't know what to do. We feel so blessed to have her as part of our team. When we transfered to the hospital she reassured my fears and really helped us work well with the nurse on staff. She helped me with position changes to make the most of the augmented contractions. In the end I was so happy to have her hold my leg as i pushed.
Postpartum i looked forward to Heidi's visits. She reassured us and helped us with swaddling and really boosted our confidence as parents. I can't recommend her enough- she is an amazing doula.
