I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Leighann as both our doula and our birth photographer. Having never experienced an unmedicated birth and this being my partners first child and birth experience, it was so important to me that we both have the support and knowledge of a doula. The birth of our daughter turned out to be unlike any of my other births and was incredibly intense and fast moving. As educated and ready as I thought I was, and as supportive and doting of a partner as I have, nothing could've prepared me for the real life scenario of an unmedicated birth. We both would have been lost without her loving and reassuring guidance from the moment I went into labor until our baby girl was a couple of hours old. Not only did she keep us focused and grounded, she helped us navigate confusing medical jargon and rushed decisions and helped us stay focused on each other and our baby. When things got hectic and scary, she was there to provide a firm and steady voice of reason. Although her doula services were the priority, there is nothing more incredible than being able to look back on the images she took from that night. So much of labor is a blur after the fact and going through our photos is an amazing way to bring back little bits and pieces of memories from our laboring, the very first moments of our daughters life, and as a family that otherwise I would never have remembered. They are powerful and beautiful and bring us so much joy and pride. Leighanns services are truly invaluable. I would never consider a childbirth without her!
