My husband and I are both so thankful to Elan for her support during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. We had a traumatic birth with my first and were hoping for a better experience with my second pregnancy. When we discovered we were having twins, I became extremely anxious about how to prepare and what delivery would look like, as I was very scared of having a repeat experience. Through Elan's help, I was able to go into the delivery with a plan I was excited about. Her presence during birth struck the perfect tone of providing warm support while also offering informative education along the way so I felt in control and a part of what was going on. I initially wasn't sure if my husband would like having a doula there, but her presence was so empowering to both of us. She helped both my husband and I feel calm and comforted, and we were able to have the redemptive experience we had hoped so deeply for. Plus, she took photos that I will forever treasure! I will also note that I was initially hesitant to use a doula because I didn't feel a low-intervention home birth was right for me and I didn't want a doula to judge me for getting an epidural, supplementing with formula, etc. Elan totally supported decisions when we made them, while offering tips and education along the way so I was informed, and I didn't feel judged at all. She is the coolest woman and I'm so deeply grateful that she was a part of our birth and that I got to know her in general! I will recommend her to absolutely everyone I can!
