Mel is the doula you didn't know you needed. I chose homebirth for my first pregnancy and was advised to find a doula. I was overwhelmed by the thought of the search and went on doula match. Mel was my first and only interview. Immediately I felt as though I was reconnecting with an old friend. I felt so supported and valued throughout pregnancy with check in's and plenty of info on any questions I had. They are a wealth of birth knowledge and this especially came in handy during my birth. Even though I had a long and challenging active labor, I never once felt any doubt or fear throughout the process. Mel's calm nature, kindness, compassion and knowledge in my setbacks are what got me (and my worried husband) through one of the most memorable days of our lives. It also meant the world that they kept in touch for some time postpartum to make sure all was well.
A million times over I would do it again with none other than Mel, and should we decide to have another or if anyone asks for a recommendation it will always be Mel. I am forever grateful for the memory they helped make so beautiful ??
