I met Lorie as an instructor in birth prep classes that my husband and I attended. A little down the road, she became our birth doula and we are very happy with that experience! We like her candour and honesty; she says it how it is!
She met with us several times before birth to discuss our wishes, helped guide us in what options we had and helped me through anxiety and even neck pain (magical hands). During the birth she supported us mentally and physically; knowing she was there brought me reassurance during this process. After birth she came by for a debrief, something I later realised I desperately needed! Lorie again reassured me and showered me in compliments which countered doubts I had about my abilities and the birth. She also took some cool photos and video during birth which she then shared with us (she had asked our consent beforehand, of course!). She has been a reliable source for resources when I have a question, concern or problem and we’re still in touch months postpartum.
