I am so thankful that I hired Marissa to be the doula for me and my husband. As a first time mom, there were so many things I didn't know about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Our prenatal sessions with Marissa were incredibly helpful. She is informative, compassionate, straightforward and honest. We also attended a birth and breastfeeding class through her practice (the lemon grove), both of which were great. I can't imagine my birth experience without her. Our son had some trouble breathing at birth and since I had a c-section and was across the room when the doctors began caring for him, I couldn't really hear what was going on. Marissa explained everything that was happening to me while the doctors finished my procedure and stayed with me while my husband went up to the nursery with my son. I had to be in the recovery room for 2 hours before I could go see my son and Marissa stayed with me and kept me feeling calm and reassured. I would've been in an absolute panic without her. I truly can't imagine my birth experience without her. I highly recommend working with Marissa!
