I cannot recommend Suzanne enough! She is an incredible doula and an incredible woman! Suzanne helped me stay confined and calm my entire pregnancy. She took the time to have real, in-depth conversations about my choices, options and preferences- in a way that doctors just don’t have the time for, prioritize and are often rushed/ overlook. She was incredibly reassuring when I was overwhelmed or concerned about (minor) complications like being GBS+, baby being breeched and having a low placenta. She gave me real strategies to use to promote positive outcomes…all the while becoming a wonderful friend. It felt like we knew her for years, even though we had only met in person a couple times before I went into labor.
During nearly 24-hours of labor, Suzanne was by my side the whole time. We walked for hours in the hospital hallways trying to process my labor, she gave me pep talks and strategies that kept me going. Thanks to her, I felt empowered to advocate for myself in the hospital, and I’m so grateful for the support and knowledge she shared with me. My goal was to have an unmedicated, low intervention birth and although I had prepared all year, the experience was far more challenging than I anticipated, especially the mental aspect. Without Suzanne I never would have achieved my goals. I could go on and on about how amazing Suzanne is and how valuable she is to have with you during any labor, but my husband summed it up perfectly: “Best decision ever. Suzanne was worth every penny.”
