I had the pleasure of working with Tia during my best friend’s pregnancy. My friend, a single mother by choice, asked me to support her throughout the birth of her first child. Since I live out of state, my initial interactions with Tia were over Zoom, where she guided my friend through the different stages of pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Even through a virtual setting, I could tell Tia was an incredibly caring and genuine person. Her knowledge as a doula is extensive, and she was always ready with clear, thoughtful answers to every question we had. I finally met Tia in person during my friend’s labor and delivery, and she exceeded all of my high expectations. When Tia arrived at my friend’s apartment, she immediately provided invaluable guidance, suggesting body movements and offering advice that helped my friend manage her contractions. It was clear how much comfort my friend drew from Tia’s presence. That initial support set the tone for the rest of the labor and delivery, where Tia remained a constant source of reassurance and strength.
Throughout the entire process, Tia was steady and dependable, seamlessly interacting with family, friends, and hospital staff. Even after the birth, she checked in regularly, offering ongoing help and support. For a new mom, this level of care and compassion was truly invaluable.
