I knew I wanted a doula for my second pregnancy as I was attempting a VBAC, and Barbie came extremely recommended from almost every single person I talked to about wanting a doula. I could not have asked for a better person on my team, I knew I wanted her by my side when she called me at 10pm one night before I even officially secured her, to talk through some news I was having a hard time with.
Though my delivery ended in another c-section and not my desired outcome of a VBAC, Barbie was still a huge support for me and my husband to lean on through a whirlwind of a day. She was there for me through all my questions, concerns, emotions, and especially postpartum when I was having difficulty processing what happened and needed someone additional to lean on.
I could not recommend Barbie enough if you are looking for a doula in the area. She is so knowledgeable of all the hospitals here in RI and almost any professional (nurse, chiro, pelvic pt, acupuncture, lactation) I came in contact with related to my pregnancy and birth knew who she was and had nothing but amazing things to say. I look forward to working with Barbie again in my future pregnancies. ??
