Danelle was an absolutely incredible partner postpartum. The day my babies arrive she met us at the hospital to stay with me overnight and was with us six nights a week for three wonderful months. Having twins was never something that I thought I would experience and even though those early days are a blur looking back, Danelle's steady hand, experience, warmth, and compassion remain constant in my memory. She knew when they needed to be fed before I did, she knew how to keep them from getting overly congested, she showed me how to prop them up in their twin pillow while they were being fed, strategized about how to sleep train when they were ready. She helped me feed them at late hours, she was compassionate and understanding when I needed to skip a breast-feed in order to get some more, and always had ideas about how to manage my supply. When we met in the morning after I slept, she always had complete details about how the night had gone. Danelle was always more than happy to perform tasks to take care of me, she'd make my favorite smoothie in the morning so that when I woke up so I didn't have to think about nourishment, brought me snacks during breast-feeding and kept my water bottle full. When I mentioned aches or pains, she was quick to offer thoughts about how I might engage with my care team to improve my condition without overstepping bounds of medical care. I don't ever intend to have another child, but if I did having to develop by my side would be one of the first thoughts to cross my mind. Thank you Danelle!
