Hiring Gio as our doula was by far the best decision my husband and I made for our mental health, my physical health and our baby’s well being. Gio was there every step of the way guiding us with a grounded, calm confidence. She helped us have the birthing experience of my dreams, while giving us confidence as first time parents.
From day 1, Gio’s support was invaluable. Her pre-birth sessions set us up with knowledge of childbirth, a birth plan, and postpartum care. Gio was available whenever we needed it - we had scares over the span of our pregnancy and she supported us with the utmost care. She eased our anxiety on the unknown of child birth and parenthood.
During labor, Gio’s presence was a game-changer; she spent over 50 hours talking through actions to take, then coming over to manage contractions. Gio made me feel better even through intense feelings - it really felt like I’d known her forever.
She was my number one advocate at the hospital, and ensured that my birth plan was followed. When it needed to change, she helped us make an educated decision. She translated medical terms and provided reassurance through unknowns. I attribute my short active labor to her coaching and advocacy. She also helped us have a perfect golden hour.
The postpartum sessions were equally beneficial. Gio helped me with so many things, including baby’s latch, feeding schedule advice and pumping. Breastfeeding is emotional and often brings challenges; having her support helped me remain optimistic in my journey.
I can’t recommend Gio enough for anyone seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate doula who deeply cares about their clients. She made my entire experience so beautiful and memorable. If there’s one thing you do to support yourself and your baby during your pregnancy and postpartum journey, I would highly suggest hiring Gio!
