We reached out for a doula because I was unhappy with the decision to induce labor at 39 weeks, and nervous for my first pregnancy and delivery. Landon is so incredibly knowledgeable and approachable, she immediately put us at ease and helped us get educated about what to expect and what kind of questions we should/could be asking at the hospital. There is SO much to consider when building a birth plan, packing for the hospital, emotionally preparing for delivery, and having someone with so much experience definitely helped keep us grounded. Labor wasn't at all what I expected, and I genuinely don't know how I would have gotten through it without Landon and our awesome nurse there. I was so anxious during labor and I can't imagine where I would have spiraled to without her calm and reassuring demeanor. I would credit her with me not caving for a C section I didn't need because I was too scared to keep pushing. We got through it and I delivered a healthy baby boy the old fashioned way! I'll always be proud of this as a great life accomplishment and I couldn't have done it without her. You are definitely going to have questions, and doctor Google is very little help for pregnancy/ labor and delivery questions. Save yourself the anxiety and just call a professional. She is so compassionate and will 100% make your experience significantly better all around. I can't recommend Landon enough, if you're uncertain about labor and delivery, need insight and education about how to prepare, or just want a familiar and friendly face with you for the ride, DO IT.
