You can plan all you want for your birth but ultimately, birth will unfold in its own way. Jen was not part of my plan but she ended up being a highlight in my birth. When my initial doula was unable to attend my birth, she sent Jen to us and I'm so glad she did!
Jen's presence at my homebirth brought peace, comfort, and a strong sense of community. She knew what I needed to hear, where I needed counterpressure, and what positions would be most helpful. Her support was crucial being that this was my first birth. I love that she was able to show up for me as if she's known me forever and hold a safe space for me in a vulnerable time.
Any mom would be lucky to have Jen by their side for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She's a gem in the birth community.
