Sue Kelly is an absolute tender, caring and maternal person through and through. She sprinted to come be at my side for the birth of my first child. As prepared as I thought I was, I never would have imagined how important it was to have her there as a knowledgeable advocate. In a very cold and sterile environment, she was able to bring a warmth and calmness to the entire room. She had them turn down the lights, quieted the voices, and made me feel as comfortable as possible. Focusing was so important and without her counting down and guiding every move, I think my labor would have took so much longer and been stressful. Sue eliminated any stress. Her command of the room was incredible, she was my voice when I couldn’t express myself. She hand fed me soup, braided my hair, massaged my legs and physically lifted me into different positions to aid in the labor, all the while having a pulled back herself and in pain. She was completely selfless, acted in conviction and I could have never expected to trust someone more in birth. Post birth she checked in on me with phone calls, and advice, responding immediately with even midnight texts. Sue is more than a doula, she is a true embodiment of the word MOTHER.
