We had the opportunity to have Cait as our doula for the birth of our son in March 2024. It was an absolute gift to work with her.
My partner and I struggled with pregnancy loss and fertility challenges leading up to this pregnancy (so needless to say, this pregnancy brought with it both immense joy and lots of nerves). From day one, Cait made sure we had what we needed to feel as steady as possible and to make decisions that were right for us. In the months leading up to our baby's birth, she answered our questions and provided us with tailored resources to help us feel more prepared and calm. We worked with her to develop a flexible labor plan, to practice birthing positions, and to begin planning for the first weeks of postpartum so that we were more equipped to navigate what life would look like after we came home with our babe.
During labor and birth, Cait had a calming and soothing presence at the hospital (and by the way, could absolutely moonlight as a massage therapist extraordinaire)! She ensured I was supported physically and emotionally and that my partner had what he needed to be 100% present. She brought clarity, energy, and insight to help us sort through information as decision points came up so that we could do what was right for us. She knew when to give us space, when a bagel order would save the day, and how to beautify a hospital room. More than anything, her combination of skill, experience, and spot-on instincts made us feel like we had an incredible ally and advocate in our corner.
We had a positive multi-day induction and birth in large part thanks to Cait’s support. It’s hard to imagine what the whole thing would have looked like without her. Do yourself a favor and hire Cait to be your doula. You will thank yourself later! We would work with her again in a heartbeat, and anyone looking for a super experienced, skilled, fabulous doula would be beyond lucky to work with her.
