Much like life... some things take a while to process. I'm now have a 4 month old and I've found myself reflecting on the very long, semi scary birth process. Of course I have lots of questions in my mind. What ifs and what should have beens, but one thing that is no question whatsoever was Ashley. Over the course of several days she was at my house couching and encouraging us and at then at the birth center the moment we went in. She was up for more than 24 hours straight or more hours giveing me counter pressure every five minutes as pain rushed through my legs and back. The amount of physical work and mental love she dumped into me as I labored was truly invaluable. And even when I had to transition to the hospital we told her to go home and get some rest but she stayed right by my side until my baby was born. I truly was on the fence having a doula and my husband was actually the one who found her and pushed for one. I get teary eyes thinking about what my labor would have looked like without Ashley. You are one amazing human and I am so blessed and honored to have had you by my side during my birth. You truly made all the difference in the world. Your love and support was something I didn't know I needed but I'm so incredibly lucky and grateful to have.
