When I became pregnant - and decided that I wanted as unmedicated of a hospital birth as my body would allow - I knew I would need to lean on the expertise of a doula. A fellow yoga teacher sent me Brittany’s info and I’m so glad they did! Brittany was a dream to work with - she was instrumental in helping us achieve the low-intervention birth we wanted! It was important to me to work with someone who understood and appreciated both the mental and physical aspects of birth, and was very balanced and evidence based in their support approach. This is Brittany! Prior to the birth, Brittany guided us with resources and educational materials which I deeply appreciated. She taught my husband hands-on comfort measures for labor, and talked us through what to expect. During labor itself, Brittany was the calm during the crazy, offering mindful reassurance and comfort/positioning guidance to both myself and my husband - she was honestly a pivotal part of why I was able to labor at home for as long as I did. Once at the hospital she stuck with us through the arrival and afterwards, and brought her warmth, knowledge, and support to us a week after the birth during a final home visit.
