It can be hard in life to pinpoint the exact moment where it all changes, where you're redirected to a new reality and your whole paradigm is dismantled and rebuilt, and for my husband and I, the beginning of this shift was when we first talked to Hannah. I had been going through hospital midwives, and I started being hesitant and feeling somehwat nervous about the hospital invasive approach to birth, and after some research during my second trimester I learned about natural birth, Doulas and later on, Hannah. She completely aligned with everything we were and everything we wanted, and we loved the way she so strongly and confidently stood by what she knew to be true, something that we openly observed through the whole time working with her.
Thanks to Hannah, my birth did not end up being induced after much pushback from hospital midwives, and I was able to have my baby freely at home with her and my husband. I am forever thankful to her for supporting us and presenting us with a whole new perspective about my condition at the time.
There is truly no words to describe the reality of having had Hannah with us through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. But one thing I can say is: she has changed my life, and my perception of pregnancy and birth. Without her, our story would have been a different one, and I'm so thankful that this is the one we get to tell.
