Valerie was such a great support for me during my birth and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a birth doula! I had my mind set on an unmediated birth and wanted to have the extra support of a doula who understood my birth preferences and could help me achieve them. In the hospital I spent most of the active labor phase in the birth pool and Valerie was instrumental in guiding me back to my breath and helping me work through the contractions. She helped me remain in my ‘zone’ throughout the birth process and seemed to know what I needed without me saying anything. She also took a lot of photos of the birth which I was very happy to have.
